A professor at a Swedish university is looking for a student electing to pursue doctoral studies and research in mapping and characterization of nanosized airborne particles.
Airborne particles are threatening human health, and more harmful are the small-size (i.e., nano-level) particles from transportation emissions. The sought Ph.D. student will participate in a critical project involving the construction of a system where simulated lung cells are exposed to laboratory conditions or real-world environments. The experiment will be conducted in order to parse how lung cells are induced to death, inflammation, or DNA damage.
The applicant should have a Master’s degree in the area of Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline.
